In the Shinjo Atsushi Lab, the basic style is for each student to have their own theme, conduct individual research, and receive supervision.
Through our classes, we expect each student to cultivate the foundation to address diverse challenges.
The most important factor is the student's own interest and motivation.

食・農・健康・情報政策領域で、現場とデータをつなぐ社会実装研究に従事。WAGRI などのデータ基盤整備、スマート農業、フードチェーンDX、ヘルスデータ連関などを推進。 Engaged in social implementation research connecting field data in food, agriculture, health, and information policy. Promoting data infrastructure (WAGRI), smart agriculture, food chain DX, and health data linkage.

We recruit new members every semester. We welcome applications from students who want to challenge social implementation by integrating technology and field knowledge. We also welcome inquiries for joint research from companies and local governments.

Mission
第一次産業分野や食関連分野を中心に、さまざまなレイヤーでの社会基盤の設計・構築と実装を推進します。詳細は、シラバスも参照ください。 We promote the design, construction, and implementation of social infrastructure at various layers, focusing on primary industries and food-related fields. Please also refer to the syllabus for details.
Features
基本となるのは個人研究です。教員陣との議論を踏まえ、個々の学生が自分自身で研究を推進していきます。農林水産省や企業の方々との連携やそれと関係したグループワークを実施することもあります。これら活動を通じたディスカッションなどから「視野・視座・視点」に基づく物事の捉え方を習得していきます。 The basis is individual research. Based on discussions with the faculty, each student will advance their own research. We may also collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and companies, and conduct related group work. Through discussions in these activities, students will acquire a way of perceiving things based on "field of view, viewpoint, and perspective".
Appeal
個々の学生の研究テーマは、基本的にはミッションに基づいたものですが、教員陣との議論などを踏まえ、学生自身の興味が広がれば、自由に変更する事も可能です。多種多様な興味・関心を持った人が集まっており、他の学生から学べることも多いです。自ら相談すれば、教員陣の幅広い人脈や研究・社会実装の現場と連携し、研究を深めるチャンスも得られます。 Each student's research theme is basically based on the mission, but can be freely changed if their interests expand through discussions with the faculty. People with a wide variety of interests gather here, offering much to learn from other students. Taking initiative to consult brings chances to deepen research in collaboration with the faculty's extensive network and actual sites of social implementation.

キャンパスに隣接する施設「SBC」での合宿の様子です。食事や談笑を通してメンバー同士で交流を深め、翌朝はそのまま大学へ向かい研究会に参加するといった、研究室の飾らない日常や和やかな雰囲気をショート動画でご紹介します。 A glimpse of our lab camp at the "SBC" facility adjacent to the campus. 食、農、健康、食文化などの領域において、AIやデータサイエンス等の最新テクノロジーを活用し、新たな価値創出と社会実装を目指す産学官連携のプラットフォームです。未来のガストロノミーに向けて、多様なステークホルダーと共に研究開発を推進します。 A collaborative platform among industry, academia, and government that aims to create new value and implement it in society by utilizing the latest technologies such as AI and data science in the fields of food, agriculture, health, and food culture.
FeED（フィード）は、「教育と創造を通じて地域エコシステムを築く」ことを目指す学際的な取り組みです。農業・食・ものづくりなどの分野を横断し、創造性・技能・学び・データを有機的につなげることで、地域に根ざしつつも国際的に開かれた持続可能な社会の実現を目指します。 FeED is an interdisciplinary initiative aiming to "forge regional ecosystems through education and design." By bridging fields such as agriculture, food, and manufacturing, and organically connecting creativity, skills, learning, and data, we aim to realize a sustainable society that is deeply rooted in the local community yet open to the world.

個人研究 / 4単位Individual Research / 4 Credits
「食」分野は、今後最も成長が見込まれる領域です。健康、美味しさ、さらには食糧危機やフードダイバーシティなど、様々な検討課題が存在します。
本研究会では、地域における持続可能な食環境の実現を中核に、履修者の「食」に関する興味を踏まえた個人研究を指導します。
教員は、履修者自身が興味を掘り下げ、リサーチクエスチョンを設定し、具体的な研究テーマとして取り組むことを支援します。The "food" sector is expected to grow significantly. We supervise individual research based on students' interests in "food", centering on realizing sustainable food environments in local communities.
グループワーク形式 / 2単位Group Work / 2 Credits
生成AIの活用を前提としたグループワーク形式の講義。現実社会のテーマを取り上げ、課題解決の議論を通じて問題発見能力とプレゼンテーション能力の向上を図ります。
4つの異なるテーマに関するグループワーク（未来構想）を実施。テーマの多くは、実際に企業が直面する課題に関するもので、企業側が課題を提示します。
※今度の参加企業は調整中（第一回授業時に発表）Group work lecture assuming the use of generative AI. We address real-world themes, aiming to improve problem-finding and presentation skills through problem-solving discussions.
PDCAサイクルの実践 / 2単位PDCA Cycle Practice / 2 Credits
発想・設計（Plan）→ プロトタイピング・計測（Do）→ 評価・分析（Check）→ 改善（Act）のPDCAサイクルを実践。「評価→改善」に重点を置き、モノ創りのプロセスを実践的に議論します。
オムニバス形式のテーマ：
センサ素子と無線センサユニット（高汐）/ LEGO MindStorm 自律移動ロボット（神成）/ 自走式機械の構築と制御（大前）Practice the PDCA cycle of manufacturing. Focusing on "Evaluation -> Improvement", we discuss the manufacturing process practically.
寄附講座 / 2単位Endowed Course / 2 Credits
スポーツを核とした地域振興に着目し、イベント興行やプロスポーツ誘致等による地域経済の発展に加え、健康増増進や教育、新規ビジネスといった多様な波及効果について学びます。実務者を講師に招き、ワークショップ方式で具体的な解決法を検討します。Focusing on regional promotion centered on sports, we learn about the development of the regional economy and diverse ripple effects such as health promotion, education, and new businesses.
大学院生向け / 2単位For Grad Students / 2 Credits
現実世界の課題解決に向けたシステム設計手法として、プログラムの基本であるI/O（入出力）を学び、プロトタイプの設計・試作・評価を行います。プログラミングの事前知識は不要です。Sonyの「MESH」を用いた対面でのグループワークを通じ、自らの目的に即したI/Oシステムを構築することで、コンピュータによる現実世界の事象制御の基礎を実践的に習得します。（※本授業は三田キャンパスでの開講となります） As a method for designing systems to solve real-world problems, students learn the basics of I/O (Input/Output) and engage in prototyping and evaluation. No prior programming knowledge is required. Through face-to-face group work using Sony's "MESH," students build custom I/O systems, practically acquiring the fundamentals of controlling real-world events with computers. (*This class is held at the Mita Campus.)

「食で北九州市に若者を惹きつける」という大きな枠の中で、各グループ個別の視点でテーマを決めて市役所へ提案を行いました。

Under the broad theme of "Attracting young people to Kitakyushu City through food," each group decided on a theme from their unique perspective and made a proposal to the city hall.

慶大生が「すしの都」北九州市で食を生かした街づくりを学ぶフィールドワークの様子が放送されました。 A broadcast featured Keio University students learning about city planning utilizing food during fieldwork in Kitakyushu, the "Capital of Sushi."
慶応大生が旦過市場で北九州の"食"を学ぶ様子が特集されました。 A special feature covered Keio University students learning about Kitakyushu's "food" at Tanga Market.
「北九州の食の魅力を若者に伝えるとしたら？」をテーマに、九州栄養福祉大学さんとグループワークをして考え発表しました。 Under the theme of "How to convey the appeal of Kitakyushu's food to young people?", we conducted group work with Kyushu Nutrition Welfare University and presented our ideas.
約220名が参加した勉強会で、神成研の学生が5グループに分かれ「大人の食育」の新提案を行いました。 At a study session attended by about 220 people, Shinjo Lab students divided into 5 groups and made new proposals for "Food Education for Adults."
「食品ロス削減プロジェクトをどのようにスケールアップできるか？」をテーマにワークショップしました。 We held a workshop on the theme of "How to scale up a food loss reduction project?"
十勝の大規模農業についてスマート農業の実践とデータ連携を現地で学び、農家さんへのヒアリングを行いました。

We learned about the practice of smart agriculture and data collaboration in large-scale agriculture in Tokachi on-site, and conducted interviews with farmers.
